OrthoRide Geri-Chair Anti-Thrust Foam Cushion
RECOMMENDED USE:
Patients in a Geri-Chair at risk for pressure ulcers requiring anterior buildup at mid-line to prevent forward ischial migrations.
Description
The OrthoRide Geri-Chair Anti-Thrust Foam Cushion is designed to maintain proper pelvic positioning and prevent forward sliding in wheelchairs and geri-chairs. Its contoured anti-thrust shape utilizes the body’s natural curvature to provide “anchor support,” keeping the hips positioned at the back of the chair without the need for a groin abductor. An integrated Ischial Step supports the ischial tuberosities, promoting proper alignment and helping reduce pressure in high-risk areas. This design helps reduce sacral sitting and enhances posture, promoting comfort, pressure redistribution, and dignity for long-term seated users.
Features
- Anti-Thrust Contour – Helps inhibit forward migration by supporting the posterior pelvis and promoting upright posture.
- Ischial Step Design – Provides a defined drop-off at the ischial region to cradle the pelvis, reduce pressure under the ischial tuberosities, and improve seating stability.
- Anchor Support Effect – Mimics the body’s natural contours for secure pelvic positioning.
- Integrated Visco Layer – Built with a firm support base and Visco top layer to maximize pressure redistribution and comfort.
- Wipe-Clean, High-Performance Pressure-Reducing Fabric – This advanced material actively evaporates moisture, promoting cooling at patient pressure points to enhance comfort and prevent skin breakdown.
- Antimicrobial, Water-Resistant & Mildew-Resistant – Designed for long-term durability and hygiene, the cushion resists bacteria, moisture buildup, and odors, ensuring a sanitary seating experience.
- Aggressive Non-Slip Bottom with Quick-Release Straps – Ensures the cushion stays securely in place, preventing unwanted movement while allowing for easy attachment and removal for caregivers and users.
- Complies with CA 117-2013 Standards – Meets strict fire safety regulations, ensuring reliable and safe use in medical and home settings.
